Slim fit Leg or Classic Leg Cord Trousers?

Here at WISC we offer three different leg widths, Slim Leg, Medium or tailored leg and Classic leg. This way we can provide tight or loose fitting legs according to preference. The model in the picture is wearing MEDIUM LEG, but if you are still in doubt measure a pair of trousers that you own to confirm the leg size you want. Traditional corduroys had a wider flat front leg but more recently they have slimmed down to fit in with current fashion, and slim fit chinos have become more popular. For reference our leg widths are as follows:

Slim leg 13.5 inches
Medium or tailored leg 15.5 inches
Classic leg 17.5 inches

The Origins Of Corduroy Fabric

It is believed that corduroy fabric originated in Fustat, now part of Cairo, and was brought to Europe in mediaeval times. At this point it did not have the ridges that we would now accept as a definitive corduroy characteristic. The ridges, or wales as they are properly known came later and are measured in ridges per inch with pincord the finest and elephant cord the thickest. Washing your New Corduroys for Men

Our corduroy trousers are a mixture of 100% cotton with natural stretch and 97% cotton and 3% elastane, depending on colour. We recommend 30 degree or cool wash, or hand wash is desired followed by a medium iron heat for your new cords. Do not tumble dry. Always take extra care to check the label on your clothes for origin and best washing instructions.
