Our white ladies Oxford shirt has a twist in store. Inside the collar and cuffs you will find genuine liberty fabric trim which contrasts beautifully with the plain white fabric. With them fastened it becomes a plain white shirt, but with the collar open and cuffs folded back it becomes another shirt entirely, great for an evening out. Two shirts for the price of one. Stylishly tailored to fit in all the right places, its crisp lines and luxury fabric sets it apart from other brands. Made with a soft collar and single button cuff with white buttons for a smart casual look, it also features a split yoke for comfort around shoulders. Machine washable and available in size 6 to 20, it is made at our own premises in Suffolk, where we have been making shirts for over a decade. What is an Oxford Shirt?

An Oxford shirt means different things to different people, including being made from a special basket weave fabric design to having a button on the collar to secure it. Our women's oxford shirt collection is made from genuine cotton oxford weave fabric, but they do not have the button down collar as found on our mens range.

The Origins Of Oxford Fabric

The fabric that makes the Oxford Shirt was invented in the 19th century in a weaving mill in Scotland. It created a fabric where two yarns were woven into each other to create a new basket weave configuration. The result was a fabric that was durable but breathable. The shirts and tops made from the fabric were originally named after the country’s elite universities and later the Oxford name prevailed as most popular on sale today. White shirts sell more than any other colour and women’s white shirts can be found everywhere.
