What to Wear with Tan Chinos | Outfits with Beige Chinos By Paul Brown

What to wear with Tan Chinos ?

My new blog is dedicated to one of the most common questions I get asked: what to wear with tan chinos? In this blog we suggest some great outfit ideas to wear with Tan Chinos, all made here in the UK.

Tan chinos are a men’s wardrobe staple and are exceptionally versatile. They are straightforward to dress up or down to suit a variety of occasions.

What are Tan Chinos?

Tan chinos cover a variety of colours and shades, with beige and stone often the two main colour options.

Not only will you find a range of shades in these two colour ways, but there are also many different styles of chinos, from really casual to smarter options that closely resemble trousers. Our chino collection is somewhere between the two. A smart but casual option that can be dressed for work or the weekend.

The best Tan Chino style

When buying tan chinos, you should always view them as an investment, as the colour will work for various outfits. However, selecting the right style is important as this will ensure maximum versatility. Features to look out for include:

Front slanted pockets for a smart tailored finish

Front zip fly

Rear jet / double welt pockets

Waistband fastened with button and belt loops

Two stylish outfits to wear with Tan Chinos

I have assembled two stylish outfits from our current menswear collection using our stone and beige chinos. All the clothing below is exclusively sold on our website with free UK delivery.

Stone Chinos (Medium Leg)

Our stone chinos paired with a navy linen shirt are perfect for holidays or British summer time. Complete this sophisticated outfit with a pair of tan suede loafers.

This is a classic outfit with a twist thanks to the signature shirt styling, centred around a nautical theme with contrasting blue stripes inside the collar and cuffs. The shirt is finished with beautiful brown corozo buttons from British button maker Courtney & Co.

Tan Chinos Outfit #2: Beige chinos with blue oxford shirt

The blue oxford button-down shirt and beige chinos are a classic pairing for those smart casual occasions. The button-down Oxford shirt is finished with a contrast navy paisley print inside the collar and cuffs and includes traditional styling like a box pleat in the back and soft single button cuffs. Like the stone chinos outfit, we have paired them with brown loafers.

Tan Chino Shorts

It is worth mentioning that tan chino shorts will cover you for those hot summer days. Our tan chino shorts are made using the same cloth as our chinos and are also available in stone and beige. The chino shorts also incorporate the same styling as our chinos, including belt loops, slanted front pockets, rear welt pockets, zip fly, and button waist fastening.

I recommend pairing tan chino shorts with a button, polo, or T-shirt.

Sizing

Our tan chinos and trousers are a part of our unique “create your own trouser” service we offer online. We offer an unparalleled selection of waist and inside leg measurements, including three slim, medium, and classic leg builds, to ensure men can find their perfect fit. Our waist sizes start from 28” to 46”, including several hard-to-find odd sizes like 35” and 37”. The inside leg increases in one-inch increments from 28” up to 36”.

Made to order, Made in England

We can offer this amazing service as all our clothing is made at our Suffolk factory in England. All our trousers and chino orders are cut and made to order. We do not carry stock. In addition, you will find our chinos the very best money can buy. We spare no expense in sourcing the highest quality materials, including cotton twill from Brisbane Moss with 3% elastane for extra comfort. We use the finest shirting fabric for the pocket lining, a YKK zip, and durable real buffalo horn buttons. Last but not least, our trousers undergo an extended manufacturing process, including several seams, double and even triple stitched, to ensure they will never fail.

Always measure yourself before buying

All our chinos, chino shorts, and trousers are cut to true sizes. We do not do vanity sizing where the actual waist is bigger than the size label on the trousers. Many customers can get caught out, so to avoid disappointment, I strongly recommend measuring your waist or a pair of chinos you already own to double-check the waist measurement. The inside leg measurement goes from the crutch to the bottom of the hem.

Caring for you pair of Tan Chinos

I recommend a 30-degree wash. Never tumble dry; hang straight from the washing machine for best results. Iron on medium heat on the inside of the trousers.

Conclusion

Tan chinos are a great investment as they are easy to style with other clothing. They are also very versatile and are perfect for work or weekend wear. The two most popular colours are beige and stone; both work equally well, so it comes down to personal preference. I recommend buying both shades and a pair of French Navy chinos. These three colours and a pair of blue jeans will cover all eventualities.

Price and Value

Our classic garments are always made in the UK from fine fabrics and are built to love and to last. They do not go out of shape or come apart after several washes so you can wear them again and again. Contrast this to much cheaper high street versions that end up stuck in your wardrobe after being worn just once, never to see the light of day as they were ill fitting or didn't survive the laundry. You pay a price up front but value is only apparent with the passage of time. The adage of ‘don't buy cheap, buy smart ‘fits here and you will do your bit for the environment as well.

Sustainability and Size

I cannot leave this blog without mentioning sustainability. It means many different things to many different people. It is well known that the fast fashion industry does enormous harm to the environment, particularly oil based fabrics and single use garments. You should consider this fact every time you shop for clothing. Here at WISC we make classic garments that are built to last from natural fabrics to help minimise our impact. They are designed to be worn again and again without losing their shape or appearance. Multiple use also means that they become value for money. We also make most of our products to order so that unwanted stock is never a feature. Size is also a factor in sustainability. If clothes fit well they will be used a lot and the issue of returns for ill fitting garments becomes redundant. We stress this on our site and in addition to an extensive detailed size guide, we offer a special ‘design your own trouser’ section for this very reason. If you generally purchase off the peg chinos for example and try to make them fit, why not visit our website with your measurements and we will make you a pair. Going forward we continue to look at ways of improving our sustainability credentials further. You should also always consider recycling or donating any clothes you really don't want or need.

We Make a Wide range of Clothes, not just Chinos

Here at WISC we make a selection of products for both men and women including trench coats and boxer shorts. All are made from the best material and manufactured to the same exacting standards. Our collections are on sale to view and buy online so why not pop onto our site and put something in your basket. You will be supporting British manufacture and of course they make great gifts too

Frequently asked Questions

We offer our chinos in ten colours including black navy and red. Pop onto our website to view the whole collection on sale now

Would a white shirt or denim shirt be ok as part of your chinos outfits?

A white shirt goes with just about anything except cream or similar, but check out our blog for examples of ideal matching shirts and where to buy them. Chinos outfits, particularly those based around our tailored chinos are not considered totally casual, more business casual or smart casual attire. Many men wear Chinos to work in more relaxed office environments.

Do you make all of your clothing in the UK?

Yes we design, cut and make all of our clothing, including our chinos and shirts at our own premises in Suffolk, UK. It is not a quick process but ensures quality. It does mean that We are rarely able to offer a sale price and cannot offer next day delivery. However when you receive your garments we are sure you will feel that it has been worth the wait.

Are Chino Pants the Same as Chino trousers or just Chinos?

Yes they are referred to as pants in the USA but in the UK as just chinos or chino trousers

Do you Ship Your Chinos Worldwide?

Yes, we ship to 40 countries including the USA at favourable shipping rates. UK delivery is free

Why should I choose British Made Clothing?

Clothing made in Britain is generally made to high standards with workers being properly paid and looked after. Many imports are made by exploited workers in dangerous premises. Britain also has a long history of making fine garments
