The benefits of cotton and other natural fibres like linen is that they allow the skin to perspire; they are breathable. This is really important for boxer shorts which is the first layer covered up by the trousers you wear. This is also why 100% cotton trousers, shirts and jackets remain a popular choice.

Forget polyester or cotton/polyester blends for underwear

Good quality 100% cotton fabrics are expensive compared to 100% polyester or a polyester and cotton blend. That is why many brands will opt for the latter to keep the price down. However as soon as you move to a cotton polyester blend or worse still all polyester you lose the breathability.

100% long staple cotton

If you want to own the very best men’s boxers short then you need to focus on cotton cloths that are made from long staple cotton.

Long staple cotton creates a fabric with less exposed fibre ends and stronger threads, creating a fabric that is very soft, smooth to touch, and exceptionally durable. Remember the best bed linen in the world is made from long staple cotton.

Historically, Egyptian cotton which we do use in some of our cloths was the gold standard in long staple cotton thanks to its climate conditions which are perfect to produce extra-long-staple cotton. However with modern farming techniques, long staple cotton can now be successfully produced in a range of countries.

We Buy The finest shirting fabrics

All our boxer short fabrics are 100% long staple cotton shirting fabrics. These stunning fabrics are sourced from only the finest shirting mills in Europe and are used to make our stunning collection of ladies blouses and men’s tailored shirts. We use two fabric weaves to make our boxer shorts:

Poplin is the lightest shirting weave. A very fine, even and smooth weave, it’s silky to the touch and very cool to wear. The perfect choice for men’s boxer shorts. However just because it is light, it is still a very strong and durable cloth.

Oxford is a basket type of weave and is a more substantial than poplin. This gives the fabric a pleasing texture which has more character than the uniform smoothness of poplin. Like poplin it is still a very soft fabric and breathes really well. The fabric is widely used in many of our signature and button down collar shirts.

Fully enclosed elasticated waistband

One of the reasons our boxer shorts prove so popular is the fully enclosed elasticated waistband. By enclosing the entire elastic inside our luxury cotton cloth, they shorts are far more comfortable to wear than those that have the inside exposed.

Following on from the theme of comfort, all our boxer shorts include a rear gusset.

Made in England with Free Delivery

A great item of clothing requires three components:

Superior cloth

A Thoughtful design and style

A high standard of manufacturing

All our boxer shorts are made using the same high standards of British tailoring and craftsmanship that you will find throughout all our clothing. In the case of our boxer shorts this includes using single needle stitching with no over locked seams. Over locking is a cheap and fast way of making boxer shorts but often the over lock stitch is uncomfortable against the skin. In fact this issue is not just common for boxer shorts; many men have similar issues wearing trousers when the inside seams are over locked. For longevity and strength we use only fell seams for the interior which are exceptionally strong.

Fit and sizing

Our boxer shorts are available from a medium (waist 34”) to a XX large (waist 40”). If you are prefer a more generous cut we suggest going up a size.

Washing your pure cotton boxer shorts

We recommend a 30 degree wash and iron the inside of the cloth on a medium heat. Do not tumble dry and for best results hang them straight from the washing machine.

Conclusion

If you are looking for the finest 100 percent cotton boxer shorts then look no further. Our stunning collection of boxer shorts are made from the finest long staple cotton shirting cotton and finished in a stunning selection of colours and styles.
