Made to Measure Trousers | Create Your Own Trousers By Paul Brown

Made to measure trousers & pants

For many men, finding trousers that fit in the right cloth and colour is a difficult task at the best of times. We all have different waist sizes and style preferences , so it is no surprise many of us can never find a pair of trousers that fit well.

While made to measure trousers, or bespoke can be consider a solution, it is not accessible for many men for three reasons;

1) Location. You need to have a well known tailor close by or be prepared to travel a distance to find one.

2) Many of us live busy lives and are time poor and a made to measure pair of trousers will involve at least two separate fittings which is a lot of time

3) The price of a pair of made to measure trousers is expensive as they create a unique pattern from your measurements

The Solution

With the issues around custom made to measure trousers, we decided to look if there was an option of delivering the same first class service online where the customer would not need to come see us in person and would pay a fair price for a quality product that is handmade in England.

The solution was the introduction of create your own trousers online where we offer our discerning customers three trousers cloths; moleskin, corduroy and twill along with denim for our jeans. In each cloth there are a selection of colour options to choose from, but most importantly a wide range of waist and inside leg options to choose from including odd sizes. Further to offer as much customisation as possible we offer customers three builds; slim leg, medium (tailored leg) and classic leg.

Measure Your Waist

In order to ensure the perfect fit it is critical that you properly measure your waist and inside leg. Do not assume the size label inside your current trousers is accurate as many brands are actively involved in vanity sizing where the actual waist size is bigger than the size label.

Luxury Stretch fabrics

Stretch fabrics can have a bad reputation as they are often associated with cheaper made clothing. However if you are sourcing from the right supplier then it actually offers the wearer superior comfort with no drawbacks in relation to quality and finish of the cloth.

We source all our trouser cloths from coveted British mill Brisbane Moss in Yorkshire. The cloth is mostly cotton with just a small hint of elastane which makes a huge different to the wear ability of our trousers and are a better all round option than 100% cotton equivalents.

No expense spared with traditional British design and styling

It is not just the first class cloths we use to make our trousers. We also use the finest shirting fabrics for the interior pockets and real buffalo horn buttons.

Each pair of trousers is individually hand cut and made to order at our Suffolk factory by experienced tailors and seamstresses. They have traditional British styling with front slanted pockets and rear welt pockets with pocket flaps which ensure the pocket will not start sagging over time and give the wearer to style options; pocket flap out or tucked in to the interior lining.

Which trouser cloth should I choose?

If you are looking for a smart casual option for the colder months of the year then our corduroy and moleskin trousers are an excellent first choice. If you are looking for something to wear all year round then you can’t go wrong with our chinos which are available in ten stunning colours including navy, stone, beige and black.

Which leg option should I go for?

While slim fit is the current trend among fashion, it does depend very much on your physique and why you are buying the trousers. For example if you have big calves then we could not recommend the slim leg as you may find them uncomfortable during a long day. We suggest our medium leg which is tapered offering a nice modern shape without being too restrictive. It is a good comprise between slim and classic leg.
